The tenth edition of the Middle East International Motor Show which took place in Dubai from 16 to 20 December 2008, in the 11 exhibition salons in the imposing Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre, further reinforces its role as absolute protagonist among the international events in the automobile sector. Every two years, the Dubai Motor Show (as it is informally defined) also takes place contemporarily with other events, among which there are Motor Parts & Accessories and MOTORplus.
Unlike other manifestations, the Motor Show is not exclusively b2b since business visitors come by invitation, while the public can participate by paying an entrance ticket, which is also available online. In the last edition there were more than 250 exhibitors representing about 630 companies from 28 Countries in the 5 continents, regarding moreover, not just car production and their components, but also that of motorcycles, bicycles, audio systems, insurance, car video games and much else.
Thematically central to the event are the latest tendencies in the world automobile industry: an extraordinary range of medium to high powered cars, off-road vehicles and SUVs, commercial vehicles and motorbikes, high performance sports cars, luxury cars, custom built cars (exclusively for an elite clientele), which include, among others, Bluetooth, satellite navigators, Vivavoce and computer controlled wheels, plus an infinite series of comforts produced using the most refined materials and supported by the most advanced technology.
The media impact of the Dubai Motor Show is always of the most impressive. All means of communication dedicate ample space to the event, which has been consecrated as the cutting edge in the panorama of events not just in the United Arab Emirates but in all of the Arabian Gulf Countries, capable also of attracting many international VIPs, including diplomatic and government representatives as well as from the families of the rulers themselves.
Hospitality in the city is also positively influenced by events like the Dubai Motor Show. Therefore the choice among the circa 30,000 rooms available is in line above all with the comfort of the location. In effect there are many 5, 4 and 3 star hotels located only a few minutes from the International Convention & Exhibition Centre, as well as numerous comfortable apartments distributed in the area surrounding the city’s Trade Fair Centre.
